In June 2013, Avery Construction was awarded the contract for the re-construction of Maretta Street in Sault Ste. Marie’s west end. The project consisted of all sewer and water works as well as the actual road re-construction.
In the winter of 2013, we began the site clearing and preparation for the Huron Superior Catholic District School Board’s new high school on Second Line East in Sault Ste. Marie. The job consisted of clearing the site, grubbing, parking lot, storm sewer and water as well as some site leveling.
In February 2012, Avery Construction broke the ground for a new MNR Flight Training Facility in Sault Ste. Marie. We were responsible for clearing and grubbing of the site, site services (sewer and water), and foundation excavation and backfill. The building was completed in December 2012.As part of the contract, we were required to adhere to all LEED standards that pertained to the project.
Avery Construction was awarded the contract to upgrade the existing water main at the Sault Ste. Marie Airport in the Spring of 2012. This involved installing and commissioning approximately 500M of 150MM PVC pipe and all appurtenances. Part of the contract required us to use directional boring methods to cross underneath the main entrance to the airport so as not to disrupt the flow of traffic to the Airport itself.
In June 2012, Avery Construction was awarded the contract for the Re-grading and Re-construction of Second Line East from Old Garden River Road heading east roughly 760M. The job consisted of installing both Sanitary and Storm pipe and structures as well as a new PVC water main. The job also required us to move roughly 30,000m3 of material to achieve the required grade.
In late 2011 and early 2012, we were sub-contracted by S & T Electrical to excavate for several hundred meters of trench for a Security Camera System at Cameco in Blind River.
Avery Construction was awarded the civil portion of the new PUC building located on Second Line East in Sault Ste Marie. This involved Sewer and Water distribution install, Building excavation and backfill, parking lot construction, etc. We began this work in the Fall of 2011. The PUC has since taken over occupancy of the building.
In 2011, Avery Construction was awarded the contract for the construction of the new Pine Street Extension between Northern Avenue and Second Line East in Sault Ste. Marie. This involved the clearing and grubbing of the site, installation of Sewer and Water infrastructure and construction of the roadway.
Avery Construction was awarded the contract for various portions of the hubtrail construction throughout Sault Ste. Marie. The work consisted of some storm drainage installation and the construction of the paved hubtrail path throughout the city.
In 2010 Avery Construction began the site work for the construction of the new Northside Toyota building in Sault Ste. Marie. Our work included, site preparation, site services, foundation excavation and backfill, parking lot construction. Our work was completed in early 2012.
